"They talk about Curry Mile, well, this is Curry City." A walk around this enclave will immediately transport you back to the side-streets of Chennai or Mysore with it's throngs of people rushing past, brightly coloured buildings, shopwares spilling onto the street, chai-wallahs pouring their piping hot chai into plastic cups, garlands swaying in the wind, and the constant hum of mantras and music creating a surreal fog in which to explore. Indian food is not the only delectable cuisine on offer in these parts, and in the following list we will give you enough reasons for repeated visits to really dig beneath the surface on what the area has to offer. Most travellers will have glanced at the main street from a taxi window on their way to KL Central for the airport train, but very few actually bed down in one of the numerous budget hotels and truly get to grips with the area. I spent over a month in Brickfields, researching heavily from local blogs, getting amazing tips from the guys at Tandang Record store, and following my nose.
