"Neighborhood Noodles" Tucked in a strange street in Chinatown, fuck knows what the real name is, but this noodle stand has to be visited. Nick the Aussie took me here on a piping hot day, and by jove did it deliver. The noodles are wok-hissed in pork fat, the dumplings are juicy, the pork belly is super crisp, but most importantly you have to ask for the special black sauce to douse the lot in. It's one of those deceptively simple looking dishes that just packs a punch. If you get here late it will be sold out, so turn up before or around 12. The line will be considerable already but it moves pretty fast. I don't even know what we ordered, but show them the photo and ask for the black sauce. Job done! These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
