"Hail Seitan" Noticed on a walk round my neighborhood I happened upon Bai Plu house by accident. Called some friends, taxi's were taken, met on sidewalks and in we went to sample Bangkoks famous Vegan restaurant. What none of us could have anticipated was the utter deliciousness of this place. Every dish we sampled was different, seasoned perfectly, textured and completely held it's own against any meat version. The deep fried morning glory salad was crunchy, rich and textured. The fake pork tasted better than many versions of the real thing I've eaten in Asia. A potato yellow curry was a tad on the bland side, stacked up against the rest of the dishes, but perhaps eaten alone it could also justify praise. If you could eat vegan food like this every day, I'd be hard pressed to see myself missing meat. Ever. These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
