"Southern Delight" Stunned into silence by the kindness of a stranger, I sat in myriad gasps of wonder and ordered a spicy curry to temper my nerves. Trang is a strange little village, but a charming one at that. There are far worse places to get stuck for a few days basically because you can't be arsed to plan anything else. The restaurant at Ban Ao Thong was full of locals every night stuffing themselves with kitchen wares. I spent three nights discovering the talents of the chef, and I must say they were decent. The local pork (not pictured) was as addictive as I assume crack to be. My foray into greatness began with a spicy penang curry with chicken, something the waitress came out to see how I was doing because they thought it was hot. It tingled, but this was far from spicy. Overall the restaurant served excellent Thai food to tourist and local alike set under a pleasant outdoor area with an annoying singer-songwriter who loved U2 and Coldplay far too much. As I have learn't in life, you can't have everything can you... These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
