"Working for your supper" Sitting at Butme Evi is an experience in itself. Directly as you enter to your right are two ladies of a different generation sitting with their hands in flour and rolling pins at the ready. Dutifully and repeatedly they stretch and roll and fill the delicate dough with different toppings and sling it on the hot (not so) flat-top to cook. The waiters take turns in tending to tables and poking at the bread to see if they're done, before grabbing a long tool and swiping them off onto trays where they are cut into cubes and served hot. The taste is a crispy delight full of cheese, olives and meat. Looking around the restaurant was packed with locals having family time and stuffing their faces. For me it was a delicious between-meals snack, the soup left a little to be desired but I'll chalk it down to an experience rather than a must-do if you're wandering around Kadikoy. These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
