Rating: 7 / 10 Spoken about almost always in the same breath as Di Matteo a couple shops down, Dal Presidente also churns out solid Neopolitan Pizza on the Highway to Hell. Irony is not lost on me. The best restaurant in Naples (in my opinion) is on one of the worst streets where aimless walkers bump into you, children scream in gleeful abandon and touts thrust menus in front of your face as you try to hide in the realms of unconsciousness. Regardless, we must all make sacrifices for a decent feed. Dal Presidente is not worthy of the fight. The pizza here is mid-level Neopolitan style and nothing to get into tourist slaloms over. Sadly the crust reminded me of the incredibly over-hyped Sorbillo and 50 Kalo, a soft pancake texture instead of the usual fire-kissed glory. The sauce and cheese were mid-par and pleasing passengers on the mediocre transport vessel. At 3.50 Eur, your curiosity won't bankrupt you, so spend a day eating at a host of random places and form your own opinions, but for my future return trips to Naples, Concettina ai tre Santi and Da Attilio will forever remain my go-to's until further notice. These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
