"Khao Soi When"

The receptionist at my guesthouse asked me every single morning for 3 weeks "Did you try Mueang Klaeng yet?". I got tired of saying no, so I walked the two blocks to this old skool shop and ordered a chicken bowl. Within three minutes a piping hot bowl was placed before me and the aroma's kissed my nostrils.

I dug deep with spoon and chopsticks, tackling stray noodles and tender chicken legs. Heads of mustard greens added acidity, shallots bite, lime a tang, and overall the bowl ate well. If i was to offer a tiny seed of doubt, the actual soup was on the sweet side, something endemic to Thai tastebuds these days. However, it still tasted good and I could see why the lady was so insistent to send me there.
