"Diabolically Dank" On the dankness meter, this mofo sits up top. There are few places in Bangkok where you'll get southern food as tasty and diverse as here. Don't go to the Sathorn Branch, but come to the Thong Lor temple, and reserve a table if you're not prepared to wait. The fried fish rice is apparently Gaggan Anands favourite dish, and we're seeing why. Funky and spicy and crispy and delicious all in one, this plate was killer. The shrimp were plump, fresh and tangy. Spicy to the afterglow, but not aggressively so. Their signature pork dish was spicier, salty, umami laden and downright delicious. These greens were fucking fire. So good. I feel the egg-meat ratio on this was whack, and the flavours were sweet and not entirely appetising. A rare fail in an epic meal. Back on the good trolley, this sour spicy soup was both those and more. Really good flavours. I don't know, sometimes when you order multiple dishes one or two of them are forgotten. I honestly can't remember that much about this bowl of curry, so I guess it didn't change my life. All in all tho, Khua Kling is a place you come to share plates with people you love and look them in the eye when they spoon some goodness into their mouths. It's unmissable in Bangkok, unmissable. These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
