"The hunt for the best Pho in KL, continues" On days when the world is a little too much to bear, it is duly accepted to find comfort in a shimmering bowl of Pho. I took the chance to walk since the sun was obscured by cloud cover and managed to arrive without passing out in the street. I quickly located the Pho counter, hardly inconspicuously located, ordered Nr 2 and point to the general direction I hoped to find a table. I sat in squalid pools of sweat. The fan did nothing here. Just as my bowl arrived so did a crowd of locals who all sat beside me eating some form of satanic fermented tofu that ruined my appetite. As I ploughed around for salvation and distraction in the large bowl, I ended up simply finding mediocrity. The broth was muddy and overly fragrant, the noodles were squishy, the beef balls tasted strange. Some of the beef slices were generously tender, yet some still were curled in musculatory defence. For once I gave up after a few bites, waited for a moment when uncle turned his head away from me, and made my escape. These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
