"Family Matters" In the battle of the two "Kee's", neither ends up the ultimate victor. Tho both Shin Kee and Soong Kee do a dynamite bowl of beef noodles, they each have slight impairments in certain areas that the other has managed to iron out. It's highly advisable to sacrifice a day of sightseeing and try them both back-to-back. I was welcomed in by a slightly friendlier server than at Shin Kee, and shown a table amid raucous gluttony. Tables around me heaved from expectation and satisfaction at intermittent points in their meals. I opted for the regular beef noodle soup and was delivered a piping hot bowl in record time. After having tried Shin Kee moments before, I'll say that I prefered their broth over there to this one, but the rest of the dish was difficult to separate. All the components were basically identically delicious though prepared in different ways. If you're walking around Chinatown and fancy a bit of competitive eating on a minor scale, pop into both and slurp down some heavenly beef noodle soup before your next appointment with destiny. These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
